Year Group Camp at TrekCo

Whole Year Group Outdoor Activity Residential Camps in Sussex

At TrekCo we specialise in whole year group camps for schools – at present up to 170 students on one residential. More can be catered for in a ‘split week’ where half of the year group come Mon-Weds, and half Weds-Friday. We’re flexible with arrangements and will discuss the options with you.

Many schools from all over the south east of England and further afield have used TrekCo and some customers have been with us for over 20 years – we are happy to put you in touch with schools in your area or of a similar type who will recommend us wholeheartedly.

Accommodation for these large groups of students is in tents on our site in Sussex, not far from London and Gatwick; and the full range of outdoor and adventurous activities can be undertaken. All students would take part in a full programme of activities chosen from abseiling, high ropes, climbing, rock scrambling, orienteering, canoeing or kayaking, tunnels, archery, mountain biking, problem solving and team building, zipwire and a full programme of evening games and activities. All of our instructors are of course fully qualified and experienced, DBS checked and First Aid qualified.

On arrival students are given a briefing and tents are allocated (the school organise tent and activity groups beforehand). Tents can be arranged according to your preference of campsite layout. Activities start straight away!

Students eat together in large marquees at tables and delicious food is delivered three times a day; served by our staff who hold Food Hygiene Certificates.

Food at year group camps

TrekCo camps are superbly well organised, the timetable allowing for activity sessions and mealtimes at a constant pace but without ever feeling rushed. The same team of outdoor instructors stays with your group all week, and this valuable continuity of instructors makes for a great atmosphere in the course of the residential.

Evening Activities

On the first night of a year group residential camp we go on a night hike, and on the last night host a campfire. During the week we can offer a range of optional activities, or you can arrange your own evenings if preferred.

All the campsites have modern toilet blocks with hot water, showers (free of course), separate blocks for staff, washbasins. They are genuinely pleasant!

Facilities on the campsite
