BTECs are vocational qualifications designed to give students the skills they need to either move on to higher education or go straight into employment. They allow teachers the freedom to create the programme that they want to teach, and that your students want to learn.

In order to meet your BTEC criteria and complete the necessary work in an efficient and cost effective way, you can organise a BTEC outdoor week trip with TrekCo in either Sussex or the Peak District.

We will discuss with you the criteria you require for your BTEC and will devise with you a trip designed to meet the BTEC criteria directly.

Example:

BTEC Level 3 from Edexcel in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities (unit 19) requires 60 hours of learning hours.

This is in four stages:

Classroom stages prior to a visit:

  • Research into the provision and organisation of outdoor activities
  • Safety and Environmental considerations

Outdoor stage:

  • Be able to participate in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities – skills need to be demonstrated in two activities

Post- trip stage:

  • Reviewing performance in the activities

TrekCo can deliver the outdoor stage and provide training in two outdoor activities within a time frame of 3-4 days depending on the activities chosen.
