We have noticed a definite increase in the number of boot failures this year including some severe cases of Boot Failure Syndrome. These are mainly attributable to borrowed boots; often the glue in older boots is weak with age and that can’t be seen beforehand – so boots might look OK but have silent invisible killer!

So check the age of boots before you borrow them.

One major problem is people bringing sliders or flip flops as their spare shoes. These may be OK on a campsite, but they don’t work on the hill when your boots give up!

DON’T BRING SLIDERS!
