Trainees in North Wales TrekCo May 20, 2010 TrekCo Life At TrekCo we run an amazing trainee scheme. Unlike some places where you have to pay thousands, we take several young potential instructors each year for free, and work them hard for four months so theycan see the real world of instruction in the outdoors. This weekend they went to North Wales where we do some lead climbing and scrambling, and general mountain training. The picture shows Roisin and Sam, two of the trainees, on Cneifion Arete – a Grade 3 scramble in the Ogwen Valley. Roisin is an ex student from Cardinal Newman Catholic School in Hove, and as a student came to the Peak District and the Alps with TrekCo. She followed her dream of becoming an outdoor instructor by attending an outdoor course at Plumpton College, and is now back at TrekCo.
