The Peak District - Residentials

Undertake your Gold Residential with TrekCo’s friendly instructors!

We run a summer residential in the Peak District which is a multi activity trip with a varied programme - from climbing and abseiling to conservation work with the same fun, active atmosphere as all TrekCo trips!

TrekCo’s Gold dofE residentials are held in the stunning scenery of the Peak District in the summer. We run a small number of residentials aimed at keeping costs low so that you can achieve your Gold DofE and complete the residential section.

Gold residentials are camping - we provide tents and catering from a cook tent, although if you prefer your own tent you’re welcome to bring that. You’ll need to bring your personal kit and sleepiing bag, but there’s a kit list alongside the information you receive.

Residentials are held in the Hope Valley area of the Peak District, within range of the activities we take part in and in a lovely setting of small villages and beautiful scenery.

Activities

Throughout the course of the week you can take part in a range of activities – don’t worry, none of these require any previous experience and they’re not compulsory – if you feel you can’t go abseiling, you won’t ‘fail’!

The activities will vary according to the weather, but the general programme is:

Rock climbing
Abseiling from a 100 foot bridge into a river
Orienteering
Conservation work
Mountain hike and scramble -without a big rucksack!
Weaselling
Preparing and cooking a meal
Evening activities

When you decide you want to book a residential, either contact our office or click the button below and complete your booking.

If you have a price adjustment/discount to apply, call and ask and this will be applied when you book online.

We will send you an Information Pack telling you all you need to know about your DofE residential. This will also include a questionnaire which we will ask you to send back to us, and a Medical Form. These are signed electronically, so as soon as you book all of your documents are online.
