The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Schools and Colleges
TrekCo can organise your school or college’s DofE expeditions at each level - Bronze, Silver or Gold.
TrekCo runs expeditions in conjunction with your school or college, and at every stage we discuss with you what you need. We know that every group has different parameters, and adapt our scheduling and programme accordingly within the DofE requirements.
TrekCo’s DofE Director is Bruce Lee; he can be contacted directly at any time by email ; or call the office on 01273 487509.
TrekCo have been working with DofE groups since 1989, and our experience and expertise shows in the level of organisation that we provide for you, and the support from our team of professionals. You can trust that TrekCo will run your expedition to the highest standards from the initial contact and planning stage right through to delivering a memorable experience in the hills.
All of our DofE Expeditions are organised by our dedicated DofE team, headed by Bruce Lee. We organise each expedition individually for you to suit your dates and availability, so that you can fit everything in with your schedule and minimise your workload. Locations
Ashdown Forest
Just 12 miles from the M25, our base in Sussex is convenient for everywhere in the south east and yet offers the ideal location for DofE expeditions at Bronze or Silver levels.
South Downs National Park
The latest National Park, the South Downs is a scenically beautiful area with great route possibilities for the DofE; and yet it is still only an hour from much of London.
Peak District
TrekCo are specialists in running expeditions in The Peak District. The region is ideal for any level of DofE Expedition and again is highly convenient to access.
Lake District
The amazing scenery of this mountain area makes for a positive bonus to add to all of the other aspects of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition section, and many of our Gold trips take place here – we would be delighted to organise your Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition in the Lake District anytime.
Our Programmes Include:
- Initial discussion of your aims, group type and size, equipment needs and general itinerary
- Training at school or at our base dependent on your group’s needs
- All training and supervision from our friendly and highly experienced staff
- We will discuss expedition aims and projects with you to suit your group
- All group equipment can be provided free of charge
- Groups are monitored by GPS tracker as well as our team on the ground
Why Come To TrekCo?
TrekCo staff are extremely well qualified and experienced – far more than the average. Your group’s organiser will hold as a minimum the Mountain Leader Award, and our staff are selected carefully following an extensive training programme. They tend to be older than the industry norm, and include many holders of the ML, MCI and International Mountain Leader Award.
Open Expeditions for Individuals
We run some Open Expeditions at Gold level – these are for participants, either individuals or small groups, who need an organiser for their Gold Expedition and will join together with others to form a group large enough to undertake their Expedition. If you have just one or two students who need a Gold expedition, they can join one of these.

"Professional and High Quality work.."
I just wanted to take the time to send you an email thanking you and your team for your work fantastic work before half term. I met the trip when they arrived, and although very tired and desperate to get home to their own beds, all students were incredibly positive about the experiences that they has with you and your team.
In addition, your work with the blog update and the assessment reports that I received yesterday reinforce the professional and high quality work from your company.
I will be looking to organise this trip as an annual opportunity, I hope that you would be willing to work with us as a school again.
Many thanks once again for your hard work and the opportunities that you gave to our students,
